Description	Radiopaedia case ID: 28998 Image ID: 6785290 Image stack position: 6/11 Plane projection: Coronal Aux modality: T2 Study description: Patient went on to have MRI of left hip for further evaluation of the area of lucency Study findings: This MRI demonstrates a T1 hypointense and T2 hyperintense lesion in the neck of femur anteriorly with surrounding edema. Cortical defect is also noted anteriorly. Extracortical collection (T1 and T2 hypointense) with surrounding rim enhancement is also noted extending through the cortical defect. These findings suggestive of a bone cyst complicated by fracture and hematoma. Modality: MRI System: Musculoskeletal Findings: This x-ray demonstrates an area of lucency at the left femoral neck.
