  • Findings: There is effusion in the anterior recess of the ankle joint. The anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament shows a full-thickness defect in the midpart. The anterior talofibular ligament shows discontinuation of the fibular end. The calcaneofibular ligament shows a normal echopattern. The posterior talofibular ligament is intact. The peroneal tendons are normal without tenosynovitis/ subluxation/ dislocation.
