Summary:

Description
  • Radiopaedia case ID: 71883
  • Image ID: 51699276
  • Image stack position: 18/25
  • Plane projection: Sagittal
  • Aux modality: T2 fat sat
  • Study description: Left knee
  • Modality: MRI
  • System: Trauma
  • Findings: Constant ill definition of the anterior cruciate ligament in all pulse sequences reflecting underlying tear. An abnormal signal is noted at the peripheral most portion of posterior horn medial meniscus, suggestive of a ramp lesion. Moderate effusion with synovitis. Buckling of an otherwise intact posterior cruciate ligament. Suprapatellar plica noticed, with no related cartilaginous erosions identified. A small cyst is noted in the semimembranosus gastrocnemius bursa denoting popliteal cyst. T1 hypo, T2 hyperintensity noted at lateral tibiofemoral compartment, reflecting marrow contusion.
