  • Findings: The symptomatic side anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament is hypoechoic, thickened except at tibial attachment site where the ligament shows thinning. There is mild effusion in the anterior recess of the ankle joint. Anterior talofibular ligament and calcaneofibular ligament show normal echopattern. Asymptomatic side anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament was examined for comparison. It shows normal echopattern.
