  • Findings: There is no effusion in the anterior recess of the ankle joint. The symptomatic left anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament shows thickening with heterogeneous hypoechogenicity. However, the ligament shows continuity. The anterior talofibular ligament and the calcaneofibular ligament are intact with a normal echopattern. Asymptomatic side anterior tibiofibular ligament was examined for a comparison and its shows normal echopattern.
