  • Study findings: Type A aortic dissection is present, which arises adjcaent to the a calcified aortic valve. It has a chronic appearance - the wall is calcified and contains a variable amount of mural thormbus. The dissection is limited to the ascending aorta.

  • Findings: Lungs and pleural spaces are clear. Prominent calcified right cardiomediastinal border. Heart size is enlarged even allowing for projection. Thoracic scoliosis. Sternotomy wires noted.
