Summary:

Description
  • Radiopaedia case ID: 28313
  • Image ID: 6293410
  • Image stack position: 11/30
  • Plane projection: Coronal
  • Aux modality: PD FS
  • Modality: MRI
  • System: Musculoskeletal
  • Findings: There is large layered fluid collection in the anterior distal forearm.  Within it a retracted distal biceps tendon is seen curled up.   The hematoma measures 3,6 X 6,7cm transversely and 12cm cranio-caudal extent.  The distal biceps tendon is curled up inside the collection and appears markedly thickened and fibrillated.  It is retracted from it's proximal radial insertion by approximately 13cm.   There is minimal soft tissue edema around the medial and postero-medial soft tissues.   The collateral ligaments as well as the common extensor and flexor origins appear grossly intact.
