Summary:

Description
  • Radiopaedia case ID: 34407
  • Image ID: 11167731
  • Image stack position: 44/88
  • Plane projection: Coronal
  • Aux modality: T1 C+
  • Modality: MRI
  • System: Central Nervous System
  • Findings: In the right medial temporal lobe, an area of marked hemosiderin deposition is associated with 'blooming artifact'. The lesion measures 7.8 x 9.3 x 8.3 mm. The imaging features remain entirely consistent with an incidental cavernoma. There has been no change in the hippocampal formation, with a small hippocampal fissure remnant cyst (not shown). Targeted post contrast imaging reveals no evidence of associated developmental venous anomaly, although there is marked focal enhancement seen centrally. IMPRESSION: Right medial temporal cavernoma.
