Summary:

Description
  • Radiopaedia case ID: 44725
  • Image ID: 21862735
  • Image stack position: 1/56
  • Plane projection: Coronal
  • Aux modality: C+ arterial phase MIP
  • Study findings: Large tortuous vessel over the hematoma and left frontal lobe with focal dilatation. This is consistent with an enlarged vein with venous varix, most probably secondary to an arteriovenous malformation, the major differential diagnosis is a dural arteriovenous fistula with cortical venous drainage and varix (Cognard 4).
  • Modality: CT
  • System: Vascular
  • Findings: Left frontal lobe intraparenchymal hemorrhage, with perifocal edema. Diffuse hypodensity at periventricular white matter and centrum semiovale, suggestive of chronic small vessel disease.
