Summary:

Description
  • Radiopaedia case ID: 70008
  • Image ID: 50937477
  • Image stack position: 82/99
  • Plane projection: Axial
  • Aux modality: T1 C+
  • Study findings: The lesion corresponds to a well-defined 2cm mass with a rim of signal loss and heterogeneous signal intensity with both T1 and T2 bright foci in keeping with blood products. Small fluid-fluid levels noted within. It is located in the left middle frontal gyrus with no surrounding vasogenic edema.
  • Modality: MRI
  • System: Central Nervous System
  • Findings: No intracranial hemorrhage. There is a left frontal lobe ill-defined hyperdense lesion, apparently at the grey-white mater junction, with no surrounding vasogenic edema. No calcifications. Brain parenchyma is otherwise normal. Ventricles and basal cisterns are normal. Paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are clear. Calvaria is unremarkable. Conclusion: Left frontal lobe lesion is suggestive of a cavernoma. MRI brain recommended.
