Description	Radiopaedia case ID: 84290 Image ID: 53900330 Plane projection: Longitudinal Study description: 10 months later Study findings: Increased parenchymal echogenicity of the right kidney with poor corticomedullary differentiation, particularly at the upper pole. A fine rim of fluid is seen around the upper pole of the right kidney. Please note that the lower pole of the right kidney has not been properly imaged due to excessive bowel gas shadows. Modality: Ultrasound System: Urogenital Findings: Desiccated L4/L5 intervertebral disc with an annular fissure and posterocentral disc protrusion with narrowing of the bilateral neural foramina. Incidental finding of an exophytic mildly heterogenous lesion (suspicious for a renal malignancy) at the lower pole of the right kidney; this lesion is almost isointense to the renal parenchyma on T2-weighted images. This lesion is also depicted well on the coronal localizer.
