- Findings: Cross compression views of the anterior communicating artery (ACOM) is useful when opacification of the vessel on routine injection is not achieved. They are performed by compressing the contralateral carotid artery during injection (after checking that no atherosclerosis is present). This allows flow across the ACOM and retrogradely along the contralateral A1 segment.
