Summary:

  • Radiopaedia case ID: 35833
  • Image ID: 211
  • Study description: MRI - eyes open
  • Modality: MRI
  • System: Central Nervous System
  • Findings: This patient presented with an acute oculomotor nerve palsy on the right. The lenses are usually seen on MRI and often on CT and can act as a clue to the diagnosis provided the scan is performed with eyes open; if the eyes are closed then discongugate gaze may be present in normal individuals. In this case, no cause for the palsy could be found.
