Geeta Devi, Sumitra Devi and Mina Devi are women farmers in the Banka District of Bihar, one of the poorest districts in India. Due to lack of education and knowledge on diversified farming, limited markets and the lack of formalized structures, farmers in Banka are unable to earn a steady income. Lutheran World Relief is working with 500 women farmers to produce diversified vegetables through innovative farming practices.
